There are so many keyboard shortcuts in Final Cut but this one might just be in my top five!  I’m sure you have all experienced those times when your computer about to crash on you and is as slow as a slug and you still need to render some footage to view an effect or something. Well instead of ‘rendering it and taking all the time in the world you can try this keyboard shortcut.

In your timeline put you playhead at a desired location and hit Option + P

This key command plays the selected area as speedy as the computer can estimate the effect without rendering!

So you can end up saving  more disk space for a while and watch your clip.
